What is Server Side Recording?
Server Side Recording (SSR) is a remote, cloud based system which records specific session activities.
Server Side Recording Policy - For optimal SSR performance, the maximum recording is 2 hours in duration. For sessions longer than 2 hours, you should stop the recording and start a new recording or the system will auto-stop it at 2 hours.
Recording Format?
WEBM - This is an open media file format designed for the web. WebM files consist of video streams compressed with the VP8 or VP9 video codec, audio streams compressed with the Vorbis or Opus audio codecs, and WebVTT text tracks.
WEBM files can be simply played in Chrome/Firefox. No plugins, extensions, downloads, or installs are needed.

How to Record a Session
1. In the Presenter Toolbar, click the Record button.
2. Give the recording a name and click Start. You can either enter a name or leave it blank to use the name of the session.
3. Wait for recording to start. You will see the R button turn into a spinner as it initializes.
4. If the recording has not started within 30 seconds, you will receive a notification that the process is taking longer than expected. The system continues to alert you every 30 seconds, until the recording starts.
The process will continue to attempt to start the recording for a total of 15 minutes. In the unlikely event the Session Recording does not start within the 15 minutes, you will receive a notification.
5. Once the recording has started, a notification will pop up and the button will turn green.
5. To stop, click the green Record button and choose Yes.
6. A notification will pop up once the recording has stopped.
Note: Because we must copy the file from the recording machine over to the session server and depending on the size of the recording, it could take several minutes for the recording to be ready to view, share, or download. So, please allow 5 minutes to 10 minutes for the recording to appear.
6. If "Recording Notification" is enabled for the company, all users will be prompted to give consent to be recorded.

Sharing a Recorded session
Before you can share a recording, you will have to set up how you are sharing it and with who.
Allow Streaming By and Allow Download By give attendees and presenters access to the Watch Now and Download buttons in their Jigsaw Recorded Sessions tab.
Schedule a Recording to be Released allows the Host/Co-Host to select a date and time to release a Server Side Recording (SSR) to appear in the Attendees' Recorded Tab screen. The Host/Co-Host sets this according to the Host/Co-Host Time Zone and it will appear on the Attendees' Recorded Tab as Recorded On in their Time Zone.

Link to recording allows you to create a link that you can distribute via email or other distribution methods. When selected, you can also set an expiration date (optional) for the link.
- When a Host or Co-Host shares a link to a recording, the user will receive a pop-up once it is clicked requiring an e-mail address. This is for the Host/Co-Host to collect e-mail addresses to know who has watched the SSR and can run a report showing viewers.
You can also individually choose participants to allow the option to stream or download. The recording will then show up under the Participant's Recorded tab.
Once you have finished with setting up how the recording is shared, click Save. If Save is not clicked and the window is closed, none of the settings will be applied to that recording.
When viewing a recording which has a playlist (multiple recordings in a single session), arrows will appear to the left and right of recording to allow the viewer to move between each recording.
Breakout Room Recordings
Breakout Room recordings also appear under Recorded Sessions. There are two ways to record in a breakout room.
1. The room can be set to auto record when setting up the room.
2. If the Host or Co-Host moves into the Breakout Room they can manually start the recording using the record button.
2A. The recording is titled {Session name} - {Breakout room name}. Please note that the recording will not begin to process until the breakout room is closed or the session ends.
